"I highly recommend Eric, we had him fix our garage door few months ago, recently we were having some issues with it. I called Eric on the weekend and he immediately answered the phone, and came within an hour to our place to fix it. I was extremely impressed about how responsive and thorough professional Eric is."

"Eric was able to help me out on a super cold Monday holiday recently. He was able to diagnose my issue and get my garage door working again. Price was fair and he was very good at providing some insight into things to keep an eye on moving forward. I'll definitely keep him on speed dial for whatever I run into next."
"Our technician Eric came on time gave a more fair price then we were previously quoted from another company and did the job quickly and thoroughly and now our door is working better then ever (even got rid of that annoying clicking noise we used to have)."
Quick answers before you call.
How much does garage door insulation cost?
Insulating an existing garage door runs $250-$600 installed, which covers the insulation panels cut and fitted to each section of the door, plus a balance check afterwards. The price depends on the size of the door and the insulation type (polystyrene board or foil-faced foam). Upgrading to a factory-insulated Amarr door instead is priced in the Door Builder on our garage doors page, and the written quote matches it.
Is insulating a garage door worth it in Massachusetts?
For an attached garage, a heated garage, or a garage with a bedroom or living space above it, yes: the door is the largest opening in that wall, and an insulated door keeps the garage, and the rooms next to it, closer to the house temperature through a New England winter. It also stiffens the door and quiets it. For a detached garage you never heat and only park in, the gain is smaller and a plain door does the job. The full comparison is at tips/insulated vs uninsulated doors.
Should I insulate my existing door or replace it with an insulated door?
If the door is sound (straight sections, no rust, good springs and hardware), an insulation kit is the lower-cost way to a warmer garage. If the door is old, dented or a thin single-layer steel door near the end of its life, a factory-insulated door gives you a new door and the insulation in one job: the Amarr steel builds we install are single-layer steel, no insulation; double-layer steel, vinyl-backed polystyrene (R-6.64); triple-layer steel, polystyrene core (R-6.48 to R-9.05); triple-layer steel, polyurethane core (R-13.35 to R-19.4). We tell you which case your door is on a scheduled visit, with both prices in writing.
Does adding insulation change how the door operates?
A little. Insulation adds weight to each section, so the springs may need re-tensioning and the opener force settings re-checked for the door to balance and reverse correctly. We do that balance check as part of every insulation job. If the extra weight means the existing springs are undersized, spring replacement is a separate repair, $475-$1,200 for torsion springs, priced in writing before we go ahead.
